We had a team of Drains Limited’s drain engineers in Sidcup, Bexley, South East London, recently installing a car park drainage system for a property management company.

During and after rainfall, water would pool around the drains, causing flooding in the car park and an inconvenience to the residents. To resolve the drainage problem two new surface water gullies were installed in the car park and new pipework laid to drain the surface water into the manhole chamber.

Our team of expert drain engineers dug out the existing gullies and set two more substantial replacements in lean mix concrete. The pipework connecting gullies to the manhole was then laid with correct fall, bedded on and surrounded with 10mm pea shingle to protect it.

Drain gully grates were then fitted to the finished Macadam level and all of the excavations were back filled with concrete. Once all the drainage works were completed the car park area was resurfaced using 6mm SMA to create a quality finish.
